19th Annual Cumbre Juvenil

Justicia Integral: Rest, Restore, Resist

A Cultural & Intergenerational Conference for high school youth who speak Spanish.

The Cumbre is a safe space to examine social justice issues and intersectionality for leadership, community, and movement building. We aim to strengthen communication between generations by empowering youth voices and authentically honoring cultural and gender identities. The conference will take place on Friday, September 6th from 8am to 3pm and is in collaboration and flow with AMISTAD's Cumbre de Mujeres.

Giuliana Luna Hinojosa

Sheila Ramirez Segura

She|Her|Ella|La

Sheila was born and raised in Boulder Colorado. She is a proud Mexican American who speaks both Spanish and English. Sheila has been working with El Centro Amistad youth group, Raíces Vivas. She believes that no matter how young someone is, their voices always have to be heard and listened to. From a young age she was taught to never be afraid of what’s to come, that she will always have to fight twice as harder as anyone, but that never stopped Sheila from becoming who she is today, a funny, kind, and loving person. She doesn’t want our kids to be afraid, like she was, she wants them to be proud of who they are, of who are going to become.

Outside work, Sheila is studying photography and administration. She loves to hang out with her family and friends, is a crafty person, practices AcuDetox, loves to dance and listen to music, but most importantly sleep! :)
